Millers Point is a historic harbourside enclave with 19th-century terraced house and laid-back pubs from the 1840s. It is a cultural hub of Sydney with a rich history of diverse residents and workers. It is a unique suburb providing reprieve from the intensity of the rest of the city. It is also the location of our office and is therefore close to our hearts.   Dickson Rothschild is working with the local community to undertake a series of urban design studies to enhance the locality as a pedestrian-friendly, safe, and attractive place. Small interventions are considered such as widening footpath at locations where there are long-standing restaurants to present outdoor dining opportunities, redirecting buses and relocating bus stops for less disruption to residential streets, lighting improvements, landscape improvements, improved waste collection and storage, changing road widths to slow down cars, finding roof-top opportunities, implementing safe crossings and improving the connection to Walsh Bay. Dickson Rothschild has worked with the community to lobby the Department of Transport and other Authorities as required.
