    The result was 93,000sqm of retail space, the redesign of the existing ATO building, a new commercial tower, three expansive retail food courts, underground parking and efficient servicing areas, all stitched together by complex yet rational pedestrian circulation network. DR was particularly instrumental in consultation and collaboration with Council using rigorous urban design analysis to justify additional built form, respond to the existing historic context, ensure pedestrian amenity, reimagine the pedestrian circulation network including private arcades, skyways, pedestrian malls and urban footpaths and to achieve double height awnings which have set a new direction for retailing in the city centre.

    The design responds to the dairy countryside and the historic working village character of the town, while providing high quality modern living and convenience.

    The houses are set on the top of a hill with a variety of view offerings to the sweeping district hills. These include to the historic 1800s built granite church designed by Edmund Blackett and to the lush valley of the Bodalla countryside.

    All houses have key environment friendly features including rainwater tanks, passive heating and cooling design, and are built from local materials.

    The building has an elegant curving façade running along the main road, complementing the historic street trees which were specifically retained and protected in the design. Each of the apartments are large and with generous balconies.

    Dickson Rothschild’s involvement was as architects and planners on the development application, negotiating with Council to achieve a desirable design outcome while achieving a lift of the building from 4 to 6 stories.

    CONSENTED 2021 This charming in-fill development consists of 10 apartments, 6 of which are affordable living apartments.  It is located in a much sought-after area between Bondi Junction and Bondi Beach.   Dickson Rothschild worked extensively for a design outcome sympathetic to the character of the well-established residential area and the result is a reimagined Art Deco apartment block suited to modern day living.  We have successfully partnered with our Client throughout the development, acting as the Architect and Planner as well as Expert Witness in Court.

As the urban design advisors, Dickson Rothschild worked with a consortium of specialists, securing Stage One and Two DA approvals which integrate existing and new built form around the iconic centrepoint tower.

    Dickson Rothschild’s involvement was as architects and planners on the development application, negotiating with Council to achieve a desirable design outcome while achieving a lift of the building from 4 to 6 stories.
