Earlier this year, our Managing Director, Nigel Dickson, acted as the Urban Design and Architecture expert to help achieve a successful mediation outcome for this project in Sydney’s east.  We worked with the project architects and planners to revise tower and podium facades, improve lobby entrances and enhance communal open spaces.

We were pleased to have been part of the team achieving a development consent at Court for our Early Learning Centre client in Sydney’s south.  We improved operating efficiency in terms of floor area, and resolved neighbour concerns on street parking and acoustics with considered design solutions.

We were excited to provide Urban Design expertise to achieve a successful mediation outcome for these four developments by Scape.

In our role, we worked extensively with the four architects of each project, to ensure compliance with the LEP, DCP and the contentions expressed at Court.  Mediation at Court has helped to achieve a rapid consent, as well as design improvements such as introducing through-site links, improving landscape design elements and exploring alternative façades.

Our Managing Director, Nigel Dickson, was an Urban Design Expert on this project at Sydney Park.  Nigel’s involvement in the intensive four-month mediation helped to resolve key concerns from the City of Sydney around separation between buildings, setbacks, and height and bulk.

The successful mediation delivered a desirable outcome for both parties and negated the need for a long and expensive court hearing – a great win for all.
